Ram Classic Pickup Truck Production Ends, Marking the End of an Era
Discontinuation of Half-Ton Truck with V8 Engine
Ram 1500 Classic to be phased out in favor of refreshed 2025 model
The Ram 1500 Classic pickup truck is being discontinued, marking the end of an era for the long-running model. Ram has officially ended production of the Classic in Canada, with the remaining stock expected to be sold throughout 2025.
The Ram 1500 Classic is the last remaining half-ton pickup truck to offer a V8 engine. With its discontinuation, Ram will no longer offer a half-ton truck with this powertrain option.
The demise of the Classic also marks the end of an era for pickup trucks in general. The fourth-generation Dodge Ram, which debuted in 2009 and was later rebranded as the Ram 1500 Classic, has been on sale for over 15 years. Its relatively old design and technology have been showing their age in recent years.
The 2025 Ram 1500 is set to arrive with a refreshed look and two new engine options under the hood. It is expected to be a significant upgrade over the Classic and will usher in a new era for Ram pickup trucks.
