Eagles In Talks With Future Hall Of Famer Wide Receiver
Aging WR May Finally Land A Championship
Still Has Fuel Left In The Tank
The Philadelphia Eagles are expected to have a new member joining their team soon. After the season-ending injury to wide receiver Isaiah Rodgers, the Eagles are looking to fill the huge gap in their offense. With Michael Gallup being released by the Dallas Cowboys earlier this offseason and a down year for free-agent wide receivers, the Eagles are instead opting for a more experienced option. Vincent Jackson is expected to sign a one-year deal worth up to $12 million to join the Eagles.
Jackson, 38, has been a force in the NFL since 2005. He has been named to the Pro Bowl eight times, and he has also been named an All-Pro three times. Other than his time with the Buccaneers, Jackson enjoyed a successful tenure with the Los Angeles Chargers, who drafted him out of the University of Northern Colorado in 2005. With the Chargers, he was named to two Pro Bowls and one All-Pro team.
Jackson is a big target at 6'5", and he is a very physical receiver. He is also very good at making contested catches. Jackson is a veteran who knows how to win. He has been to the playoffs eight times, and he has won two NFC Championships. He also appeared in Super Bowl XXXVII with the Bucs but fell short to the Oakland Raiders 48-21. With the Eagles, he hopes to finally add a Super Bowl ring to his resume.
