Miami Dolphins Running Back Mike Mcdaniel Nfl Raheem Mostert

# Miami Dolphins promote Raheem Mostert to Starting Running Back Role ## McDaniel impressed with Mostert's versatility, consistency ### Mostert's production, durability key factors in Dolphins' decision The Miami Dolphins have named Raheem Mostert their starting running back heading into the 2023 season, head coach Mike McDaniel announced Monday. Mostert, who joined the Dolphins as a free agent in March, has impressed McDaniel with his versatility and consistency throughout training camp and the preseason. "Raheem has shown us a lot in a short amount of time," McDaniel said. "He's a versatile back who can do it all. He can run inside, outside, catch the ball out of the backfield, and he's a threat to score every time he touches the ball." Mostert's production and durability were also key factors in the Dolphins' decision to promote him to the starting role. In 2022, Mostert rushed for 789 yards and three touchdowns in 12 games with the San Francisco 49ers. He also caught 16 passes for 145 yards and a touchdown. Mostert has also shown a high level of durability throughout his career. He has played in at least 12 games in each of the past five seasons. "Raheem is a tough, physical runner who can handle a heavy workload," McDaniel said. "He's also a smart player who understands our offense. We're excited to see what he can do for us this season." Mostert will be the lead back in the Dolphins' offense, but he will be joined by a talented group of running backs, including Chase Edmonds, Sony Michel, and Myles Gaskin. The Dolphins are hoping that Mostert can help them improve their rushing attack, which ranked 24th in the NFL in 2022. "We think Raheem can be a big part of our success this season," McDaniel said. "He's a talented player who makes our offense more dynamic."
